Problem

An address list isn't shown on the client, although the client syncs successfully.

Solution

When an address list isn't shown on the client, you can check the following things:
  • The address list must be published, i.e. when you open the address list in the PeopleSync Console,  "Published CardDAV" must be set to "Published".
  • Under CardDAV permissions, there must be an Active Directory group with at least "Read" permissions
  • A group with the sAMAccountName shown in "CardDAV permissions" must exist in Active Directory.
  • The AD group in question must be of group type "Security". Distribution lists do not work any more.
  • The AD group's sAMAccountName must be unique in the AD forest, i.e. if you have multiple domains in the forest, the sAMAccountName of that group must not be used in multiple domains.
  • The user account you are using in the CardDAV account of the mobile device must be a member of this group.
Please also have a look at the frontend's log file, c:\windows\temp\php_peopleSync_errors.log. If the group name is not unique, then there should be a message saying so.
