Login Failure With iOS 18.4

 Problem

Affected Versions: PeopleSync Frontend version < 24.11.5

When connecting to PeopleSync with a username containing an “@” from an iOS 18.4 device, the login fails.

The frontend log shows a message similar to the following:

Failed to authenticate: john.doe%40example.com

It is possible that MDM-managed devices are not affected.

 Solution

This is caused by a change in iOS 18.4. In this iOS version, special characters in the username are URL-encoded. This wasn’t the case in older versions of iOS.
